Where to Stay for the 2026 United States Grand Prix
Four bases for the circuit, the city and the hours in between.
Austin asks you to choose where the weekend begins. Downtown keeps the lake, dinner and a late drink close; South Congress gives the city a more neighbourhood rhythm. An airport base makes a different trade: less evening wandering, easier arrivals and departures.
Choose the hotel for the part of Austin you want around the race. Then plan the journey to COTA separately.
Four Seasons Hotel Austin
The lakeside city base
On Lady Bird Lake in downtown Austin, Four Seasons puts the water beside the city rather than outside it. Lakeside trails and a saltwater pool give the return from the circuit a quieter register, while downtown remains within reach.
Choose it when the hotel should feel like a retreat without making Austin an excursion. Book the room category for the outlook you want.
Pronte pick: A city weekend with room to exhale.
Austin Proper Hotel
Design, then dinner
In the Second Street District, Austin Proper makes the hotel part of the evening. Kelly Wearstler’s interiors, a rooftop pool and dining at The Peacock and La Piscina give it a strong point of view without needing to leave downtown.
It suits the traveller who wants the race by day and a considered city address afterwards.
Pronte pick: The hotel as part of the night out.
Hotel San José
A South Congress rhythm
Hotel San José brings a garden courtyard, a guest pool and a lounge to South Congress Avenue. The appeal is neighbourhood character: a smaller-scale base where a drink in the courtyard can be enough of a plan.
Choose it for Austin beyond the grandstand, with shops, food and city life shaping the hours around the race.
Pronte pick: A little more neighbourhood, a little less downtown.
Hilton Austin Airport
The practical arrival
On Austin-Bergstrom’s airport grounds, Hilton Austin Airport offers a main-terminal shuttle and an outdoor saline pool. It is the practical choice when arrival and departure logistics matter more than stepping straight into downtown.
The airport transfer is not a circuit transfer. Keep a separate race-day transport plan, and allow for the return journey before making evening commitments.
Pronte pick: Arrivals and departures first.
City or airport?
Choose downtown or South Congress if Austin’s dinners and music are part of the trip. An airport base suits arrivals and early departures, but the journey to COTA still needs its own plan. Proximity on a map is no promise of a quick race-day journey.
Check COTA’s current shuttle, parking and getting-to-the-circuit guidance before settling your transport. Choose the hotel and the transfer together, rather than assuming one solves the other.
Pronte Picks
Confirm current hotel services and race-weekend transport arrangements directly before booking. Room outlooks and amenities depend on the category and arrangements you select.
